Sentence and Its parts (Subject and Predicate)
GRAMMAR
Subject and Predicate:
The sentence has two parts. The topic of the sentence is the subject.
What is told about the subject is the predicate. Sometimes but not always, the subject identifies the agent of the action; that is, it tells us who (m) or what is doing sometimes:
Subject <> Predicate
----------------------------------------------------
- Vaccines <> have arrived at lead!
- Halloween <> is a holiday
- Brazil <> has produced many outstanding international football players
- The city <> was surrendered to Napoleon.
( The subject of the sentence is The village, but didn't do anything. Something was done tp the city by persons unspecified.
The agent is not expressed in this sentence.)
