What is part of speech?

Good morning, Today I would like to present this lesson as long as most of the students asked it. Today we have Basic English lessons.

Part of speech:

Sentences are formed from words the belong to different categories depending on their function. The word " fire ", for Example: Noun: " The fire burned the building ".

Verb: " burned ".

Adjective:

Modifies a Noun.

Example : Yellow, pretty , useful idea .

Article:

Identifies whether the Noun is specific or a member of a class .

Examples : a, an, the .

Adverb:

Modifies a verb or an adjective .

Examples : very, extremely .

Conjunction:

Joins components of a sentence or phrase .

Examples : and, but, or .

Interjection:

Is used for exclamations .

Examples : oh!, Aha! .

Noun: 

Name an object or action .

Examples : mouse, fire .

Preposition:

Indicates relationship to an object .

Examples : in, about, toward .

Pronoun:

Is used in place of noun .

Examples : he, this .

Verb:

Specific an action or links the subject to a complement.

Examples : take, is, go, fire .
